VISPA - Visually Impaired Sport and Physical Activities
VISPA -Visually Impaired Sport and Physical Activities is a group of Liverpool based organisations who have come together with the aim of supporting visually impaired (VI) children and young people to take part in more physical activity (PA) during and outside of school hours.
VISPA are:
*Henshaws * St Vincent’s school * Bradbury Fields * Daisy Inclusive UK * Greenbank Sports Academy * Liverpool Football Club * Everton Football Club * SAVI Northwest * Liverpool City Council * Liverpool School Sports Partnership*
We hope that by participating in regular physical activity our children and young people will be healthier, happier and have increased confidence. Research shows that visually impaired children and young people are less active than their sighted peers.
VISPA’s mission is therefore to make it as easy as possible for VI children and young people to take part in activities of their choice by making sure that the right opportunities are provided at the right time, in the right environment. We aim to inspire those who want to participate to be able to do so and ensure that all visually impaired children and young people in Liverpool have equal access to sporting opportunities.
