We are proud to have ‘A Quiet Place’ in our school. 'A Quiet Place' helps children and families to develop emotional intelligence and to manage their well-being through stories, drama, art, aromatherapy and relaxation sessions. Parents/carers can access support from 'A Quiet Place' too!
'A Quiet Place' offers an emotional intelligence curriculum. Emotional intelligence develops the capacity for recognising our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves and for managing our emotions well in ourselves and in our relationships. Emotional intelligence helps our children to be ready to learn and to achieve.
‘A Quiet Place’ programmes focus upon:

Stockton Wood is a restorative school. The aim of restorative practice is to develop community and to manage ‘falling out’ and tensions by repairing harm and building relationships. This is our priority as a restorative school, as we see ourselves at the heart of and serving the community.Restorative Practice complements and supports our Behaviour Policy.

Stockton Wood is an inclusive school who cater for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities across the four broad areas of the Code of Practice (2015).
The school adopts a 'whole child-whole school' approach to managing the needs of children with SEND.
We use a 'graduated approach' , with early identification at the heart of practice to help overcome barriers to learning.
We are part of a SEND Consortium and use a '3 Step Model' to ensure consistency in practice when following the ASSESS-PLAN-DO-REVIEW cycle.
