Rotunda Nursery
We are open Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, 51 weeks of the year. Across our Toddler Room and Preschool Room, we have space for 29 children aged from 12 months to reception age. We offer full day sessions as well as mornings / afternoons and have a range of flexible options for children accessing funded places. We have fantastic outdoor spaces that include a forest school area, digging and planting and a safe space to run, climb and cycle in.
At Rotunda Nursery, our children are at the heart of everything that we do. We work with families to ensure that the children at our setting get the best possible start to their learning journey with us. Our staff team includes highly qualified and experienced staff who strive to provide the most exciting and challenging experiences for children in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
We work closely with the wider Rotunda charitable organisation, ensuring we are offering the best service and support for our families and community. Rotunda is a warm and welcoming place for people to learn, re-charge, find support and have fun. We have been serving our local community for over 30 years and our mission is to lead on social regeneration. We are home to Rotunda College, an accessible and inclusive education provider specialising in flexible adult learning, providing people with the skills and qualifications they need to progress in life.
Rotunda also supports the local community and beyond with seasonal community events, skills workshops, food bank and volunteering opportunities. Our Bistro serves delicious food Monday-Friday and also doubles as a history resource being a Heritage Centre. Our beautiful wellbeing gardens are accessible to all and a perfect place to come to relax and enjoy nature. Rotunda has plenty of green space, with our own folly sculpture for events. Our enterprise and heritage centre houses a grand conference room with original Georgian detail, and plenty of office spaces all available for hire.
Please get in touch to arrange to come and view the nursery and meet our team.

Local Offer
- Description
We get to know the your child and their family before they start by offering free settling in sessions, during which we talk to you about your child and hear all about their likes, interests, what they are good at and if there is anything that they might need some support with. During their time at nursery, we will ensure that work closely with parents and carers so that we are all supporting your child and addressing their needs together. We recognise that all children learn and develop at different rates and will plan for your child as an individual to help them reach their full potential. Children who may have a special need or disability are supported through play plans which are devised by our SENDCO, the child's key worker and their parents or carer. We will update you on their progress and achievements and let you know the ways in which we are supporting them at nursery.
2. How will the staff in the setting support my child?
Your child will be allocated a key worker at nursery who will be responsible for supporting their learning and development. This is done through learning journals that are shared with parents and carers regularly. Your child's key worker will get to know their likes, interests and needs and ensure that they are offering learning opportunities and experiences that allow them to access our curriculum and learn in our inclusive environment. We will work with you if the need for a referral to a specialist service arises and work with outside agencies to ensure your child is getting the most out of their early years education.
3. How will the curriculum be matched to my child's needs?
Our children are at the centre of everything that we do. Key workers will plan for individual children by following their interests and understanding their needs and their next steps.
4. What specialist services and expertise can be accessed by the setting?
We are members of the Early Years Consortia and can access a range of support for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
5. How accessible is the setting?
We are open from 8am-6pm 5 days per week 51 weeks per year
We have a lift which allows access to all floors.
We have disabled parking at the front of the building.
We are also happy to discuss any other specific needs with you and any reasonable adjustments made to the setting.
6. How will the setting support my child in transferring to the next stage of education?
We work in partnership with the local schools to aid smooth transitions. We provide schools with a summary of progress and transition form as well as inviting new teachers to nursery to meet with us and your child. Any additional needs/requirements will be discussed with the school and relevant information shared.
7. How are parents involved in the setting? How can I be involved?
We hold regular stay and play sessions where we invite parents in to join us for a morning or afternoon and get involved with playing. We also have college courses and volunteer placements across the company for parents to gain new skills and improve their personal development.
