Recycles Merseyside

We offer a free course in bicycle maintenance and repair. The course is open to people aged 18-30 who have a learning disability, are unemployed or are an asylum seeker/refugee. As well as learning some new skills, the course involves working on second hand bicycles which, when repaired, are sold in the community to help fund the social-enterprise. The course will usually be completed in 6 weeks based on 2 sessions a week, but we are very flexible on timings and can work with people who are not able to commit to exact times each week or who need more time to pick up the skills.
Reasonably-priced, refurbished bikes are available for sale from Bulky Bob's shop from Monday-Saturday, 9:30-4:30. Kid's bikes start at just £10.

Our workshop is located in the basement and, unfortunately, there is currently no lift. Access is therefore only possible via stairs. Bikes are available for viewing & sale on the shop floor and this is accessible by wheelchairs by use of a portable ramp. Please ask for assisstance on arrival, if required. There is a dorrbell, on the front door, to get our attention in the workshop
Once in our basement workshop, the whole floor is on one level and one of our tool cabinets is set at a height that is accessible from a wheelchair. Unfortunately the only toilets we have are back up on the ground floor.
