Our Lady and St Philomena's Catholic Primary School is a single form entry school where all staff support and encourage the children to use their talents to develop and enhance positive learning behaviours. We have a dedicated staff team who work with parents and families to ensure children are ready for learning. We provide an environment where children grow through positive relationships and through access to a broad curricular experience. Every member of staff is committed to providing the children with a happy, well-disciplined nurturing environment where the children can thrive and make the most of every learning opportunity offered to them. We have high aspirations for all our children and promote learning as a life long journey.

SEN Intent
We aim to meet the needs of all our children through quality first teaching supplemented by in class support or small group interventions. All staff are aware of how to create positive learning environments and how to make reasonable adjustments for the needs of the children in school. Staff work collaboratively to review progress and share good practice and strategies for meeting needs. We are a 'learning' school where children and staff are encourage to develop and learn, to achieve this, staff work with a range of providers to meet our four main areas of need and support. These areas broadly cover: Communication and interaction, Cognition and learning, Social, Emotional and Mental Health, Sensory and / or physical needs. We have high aspirations for our children and this 'ambition for all' impacts on all areas of a child's growth and development so each and every child grows through the positive, nurturing relationships in school.
School provides support for all learners in class, sometimes in small group support in class or interventions, and on occasion, through specialist support. We have a proactive learning mentor who provides further pastoral support and advice to our families.
