Faith Primary School

Faith Primary School is located near Liverpool city centre in the borough of Everton. At present 33% of the children on role have additional needs, with a large proportion, needing extra support around Social, Emotional and Mental Health. The school prides itself in prioritising children’s mental health and wellbeing, whilst at the same time, providing all children with an ambitus curriculum that contributes to them leading happy, successful lives.

Faith Primary school holds the prestigious title of the Inclusion Quality Mark and aims to become a flagship school in the next academic year. Inclusion is embedded throughout the curriculum and all staff have regular, purposeful SEND training, to ensure that they are well equipped to meet the children's needs and understand possible reasons for behaviour. Currently at least a fifth of the weekly timetable is taught through active lessons and outdoor learning is regularly accessed by all year groups.

The Zones of Regulation program underpins the school’s behaviour policy. It is our view that being able to regulate emotions and reflect on situations, is an essential skill needed for adulthood. Each classroom has a toolbox which is filled with items to help the children regulate. The children are taught how to identify when they are becoming unregulated and learn which strategies and tools help move them back into the "green zone", where they are calm, focused and ready to learn.

At Faith, we are committed to:

  • fostering the identity, language and culture of all of our children
  • high expectations of all of our learners
  • clear processes for identifying and supporting the needs and aspirations of children with special educational needs
  • robust systems and processes to welcoming learners with special educational needs and identifying their strengths
  • working effectively with parents, families and the wider communities
  • rigorous self-evaluation processes to ensure ongoing improvement of policies and practices
  • working collaboratively with other professionals and organisations to improve academic and personal outcomes for all
