The Whitechapel Centre - homeless & housing charity

The Whitechapel Centre is a leading homeless and housing charity for the Liverpool region. We work with people who are sleeping rough, living in hostels or struggling to manage their accommodation. We are committed to helping people find and maintain a home and learn the life skills essential for independent living.

Several different services are based within The Whitechapel Centre, including our assertive outreach team, access to showers and clothing for rough sleepers, assessment and housing advice, welfare rights advice.

Please call us on 0151 207 7617 to discuss your situation and book an appointment. If you drop in without an appointment you may need to wait for some time.

If it is unsafe for you to return home, or you will be homeless within the next 56 days, you should contact the Housing Options Team at Liverpool City Council.

Available to anyone who is homeless in a hostel, struggling in a tenancy or vulnerably housed. Support to access accommodation, benefits, treatment, find a GP etc.

This service is available from 9am on weekdays.

This service supports people who are new to rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping tonight, finding interim and longer term accommodation options to prevent anyone spending a second night out.

MOVE PROJECT – Move Opportunities for Voluntary Employment

We offer an 8 week pre-volunteer training course which aims to be creative and fun to encourage those who are homeless, in housing need or socially excluded to consider volunteering opportunities.  A 2 day intensive volunteer training course is also available to people who already demonstrate a high level of skill to prepare them for voluntary work at The Whitechapel Centre where we offer a range of different volunteering opportunities.
