Local Offer

Description

1. How does the setting know if children need extra help and what should I do if I think my child may have special educational needs?

We would ask parents / carers to fill in as much information about their child when they start in our setting   we complete our baseline tracker, Key Person time. We would liaise with previous settings if they have attended. We complete our targets and test 2 year and observations If we have any concerns we will  speak to parents for their feedback and discuss support which may be needed, maybe  permission to liaise with outside   professionals such as, Health Visitors, Speech and Language Therapists all done with parents consent

2. How will the staff in the setting support my child?

The progress of the child will be regularly reviewed and shared with parents, using EYFS and observations, Key Person time, 2 year old checks and all activities will be available with support for children with or without SEN. Nursery will liaise with SEN services for any additional support that may be needed

3. How will the curriculum be matched to my child's needs?

We ensure all children are able to access the EYFS, we follow their interests and next steps are planned individually for each child with adaptions made according to their abilities and needs.

4. What specialist services and expertise can be accessed by the setting?

All of our staff are qualified Nursery Nurses. We work closely with our local children's centre, with parents permission, we would  liaise with all health and social care services. We are also members of the EYC and we work in partnership with the local Authority. We are able to receive advice and support from SEND services

5. How accessible is the setting?

We are happy to discuss your child individual needs and to make reasonable adjustments. The setting has wheelchair access, all of our rooms are situated downstairs. We are also happy to provide for any child's individual needs.

6. How will the setting support my child in transferring to the next stage of education?

We do transitional work with our local schools and if needed support and advice school  senco who will work with us. We attend local authority transition meetings to meet the staff and brief  visits to our nursery and their new setting.7. How are parents involved in the setting? How can I be involved?

We have an open door policy to all parents, to discuss their children's progress. We have termly coffee mornings and we are linked into our local children's centre. We also complete summertive assessments every three months observations which parents are encouraged to comment on and discuss with your child's key person.

All children's work and development is online through Tapestry parents and carers have easy access to.
